Scotland’s Adherence to the Council of Europe Convention: Addressing and Preventing Violence against Women and Domestic Violence

Just Right Scotland (JRS) have a new blog post about Scotland’s Adherence to the Council of Europe Convention (also known as the Istanbul Convention) Addressing and Preventing Violence against Women and Domestic Violence. JRS worked with the Scottish Human Rights Commission which submitted a report to the Council of Europe Group of Experts on Action Against Women and Domestic Violence (GREVIO) in December and that latter group will publish their report and recommendations in November 2024.

Pages 95-97 of the SHRC report relate to NRPF in particular. The SHRC report recommends that The Scottish Government should continue to explore how it can ensure the maximum available support while working with the UK Government to end the use of the condition.
