Somebody Cares Foodbank
Somebody Cares Foodbank provides weekly, nutrient-rich food parcels, individually prepared for each client’s tastes and dietary requirements, helping alleviate financial burdens and improve mental health by ensuring access to essentials such as children’s breakfasts and an OAP’s ability to pay utility bills.
The service also delivers daily food trays to local hostels, provides breakfasts and snacks to schools for vulnerable children, and distributes care packages to key workers. Access to a food parcel is by self-referral for anyone in need.

Guardianship Scotland
Guardianship Scotland is the national service providing Independent support to all unaccompanied asylum-seeking children, victims of trafficking, and children vulnerable to trafficking who arrive in Scotland. It is delivered in partnership by Aberlour and the Scottish Refugee Council on behalf of the Scottish Government.
Young people remain eligible for support until three months after they have either been granted leave to remain or have received a conclusive grounds trafficking decision and are over 18.

Pathways Domestic Abuse Counselling
Pathways from Abuse is a dedicated domestic abuse counselling service for women across Aberdeen and Aberdeenshire, offering 1-1 counselling to help women address the feelings and concerns arising from Abuse to improve their quality of life.

Sahara Scotland

Scottish Women’s Aid “Fund to Leave”
The fund offers women based in Scotland up to £1,000 for essentials to support the costs of leaving, planning to leave or staying left from an abusive relationship. This might include costs related to moving home or increasing safety to enable a woman to remain in her own home. Women with NRPF are encouraged to apply.
The Fund to Leave is funded by the Scottish Government and coordinated by Scottish Women’s Aid. It is a limited fund of £1.5 million, available until the 30th June or will close sooner if the funding has been spent. Scottish Women’s Rights Centre

The Young Patients Family Fund is a Scottish Government scheme that reimburses the costs of travel, parking, accommodation, and daily food and drink for parents, primary carers, and siblings under 18 visiting a young inpatient under 18 in a Scottish hospital.
Claims must be made within three months of discharge and require a claim form signed by a hospital medical professional, which can be downloaded online or collected from the hospital and then submitted to the hospital’s cash office or the relevant NHS Board.

The programme aims to strengthen links between GP Practice Teams and community services to support people in living well and improving their overall health and wellbeing.

GREC ESOL Aberdeen Map
